Turkey past Romania into Volleyball quarters

Turkey ensured a place in the quarter-finals of the first European Games women`s Volleyball tournament after the won over Romania with 3-0. It was a normal victory with (25-16, 25-22, 25-19) for the world number 8 team.

"I think we are stronger than the other teams," Azerbaijan is our strongest rival. We are level with them." are the words from the Turkey`s team.

Romania have now lost four consecutive games, and will be eliminated if Italy win one set in their Thursday afternoon game against Poland.

Croatia has registered it`s first win to keep alive their hopes for qualifying for the quarter-finals. They won into the first two sets with 25-23, before the answer from Bulgaria to take the third set 25-15. Croatia held their nerve and won the last set with 25-23 in a dramatic finale.

"We played like a team. We followed our tactics and played a good game." said the Croatia`s head coach, the Brazilian Angelo Vercesi.

Turkey will play against Azerbaijan in their final predicted by fixsoccerpicks Pool A game on Sunday 21 June, while Romania will face Italy.

In Pool B on the same day, Croatia will play against Germany, while Bulgaria will face Netherlands.
