The penalty of Jara was reduced

The penalty, imposed on the Chilean defender Gonzalo Jara, was reduced from 3 to 2 meetings of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL). Despite the reduction of the penalty, the player of Mainz 05 still won`t play more of this year`s Copa America.
The 29-year-old Jara was banned at the request of the Uruguayan Football Association because of the ugly provocation against Edinson Cavani in the quarter-final between Uruguay and Chile.
The Football Association of Chile successfully appealed the penalty and it was reduced to 2 meetings. The difference with the previous situation is that now he will be able to play for Chile from the beginning of the qualification campaign for the World Cup 2018, if tonight the team overcomes Peru in the semi-finals and reaches the clash for the title.
