The result of the game between Netherlands and Germany is of secondary importance, according to Danny Blind before tonight`s match. He said that the meeting will be a demonstration of unity in the fight against terror.
`This is a friendly game in the true sense of the word. Victory is not important because the only purpose of this meeting is to announce our position of unity and intransigence against terror. The incidents left a stain in our consciousness. Football just isn`t the most important thing in the world.`, said Blind before the game against Germany.
Although the Bundes team was on the field during a terrorist attack in Paris, the match via football picks with the Netherlands was not postponed.
The German coach, Joachim Loew, did share:
`The match via football picks will be a symbol of freedom and democracy.`
Blind welcomes this decision: `Sport has the power to unite and that is what the world needs at this time. It is a direct demonstration of freedom, democracy and solidarity.`
